Cheryl is a self-taught collage and fibre artist, specializing in “paper paintings”.

After retiring in 2018, she started dedicating time for the sole purpose of creating art and exploring many different types of art media; such as, acrylic painting, pour painting, paper mâché, air dry clay, and wreath-making, to name a few.

In 2023, Cheryl rediscovered the art of collage which is very compatible and blends well with fibre art and mixed media.  Since then, she has been passionate about creating art that includes reclaimed items, as well as, lots of textures, happy colours and patterns. A big part of her process is hunting for treasures that compliment her “paintings”. Her style is to blend abstract and realism into a one-of-a-kind pieces of art. The more intricate and exclusive the creation, the more she enjoys the process.

Cheryl also has a love for owls and “hides” one in all of her “paper paintings”. See if you can spot one. Some are harder to find than others. She is dedicated to continue learning and creating art that is both vibrant and unique and hopes that her art will stir emotions and memories, spark joy, and create a sense of wonder!

This is Cheryl’s art story. She hopes it will inspire others to create a unique story/style of their own.
