Arts Society of Kingsville is looking for new board members!

Arts Society of Kingsville, ON (A.S.K.) is a member-run not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts and artisan crafts to enrich local cultural life and to connect artists with the community. Our mandate is to cultivate and promote the arts through various exhibitions and arts advocacy.

A.S.K. members are a diverse and amazing group of both seasoned and developing artists and artisans, as well as, patrons and lovers of art!

About the Board

Arts Society of Kingsville is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of artist and non-artist members.

A.S.K. is seeking new members with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to join our collaborative leadership team. We are seeking candidates for the Board of Directors who are strategic thinkers and community minded individuals with a passion for the arts and expertise in one or more of the following areas: publicity/marketing, business, finance, technology, law/risk/compliance, human resources, project management or donor cultivation/development, etc. Board meetings involve high-level discussions about strategic goals and conversations about operations.

Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which occurs in the spring.

The Board of Directors meets monthly and Board members serve on the Board for a three-year term. Board members are encouraged to also serve on one or more committees (Carnegie, Events, Exhibits, Fundraising; Governance; Marketing, Membership, Publicity, Technology, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities

·      Engage in high-level discussions about strategic goals and operations
·      Provide guidance and oversight to advance A.S.K.’s mission & strategic plan
·      Review and approve organizational governance policies and procedures
·      Guide and assist volunteers
·      Yearly review of financial statements from the Treasurer
·      Act as passionate advocates for A.S.K.
