Rico Dancel is a self taught artist, born in the Philippines and came to Canada in 1978. Currently living in Kingsville, Ontario. His talent in Art developed when he attended W. F. Herman Secondary School in Windsor. Rico went to finish his Certificate of Qualifications as a General Machinist, where he presently works. However, Art remains his passion.
Working primarily with watercolours, his brushstrokes and control of the medium creates a delicate arrangement. Having exquisite shades, colours and off composition, yet balance as a whole. Rico captures the true spirit of blooming flowers with richness and elegance. Having a great western influence as his subject matter, he gives a delicate Oriental touch which allows him to express its poetic values. By sputtering bursts of colours, Rico breathes life and energy into his paintings.
